Our farm grew out of the desire for top quality, wholesome and nutritious food as well as trying to find a harmonious and self-reliant lifestyle.
My name is Scott Haase. With the loving support of my wife Anna and help with chores from my two hard-working boys Gannon and August, we are Blue Dirt Farm, a small diversified farm focused on producing pastured pork and a limited offering of other products.
I've found that with good design and management, the abundance and diversity of the land increases with every year! Greater health in the soil means better cycling of vital nutrients while rain water is caught and held to last throughout the year.
Since beginning this journey, the vision of Blue Dirt Farm has expanded beyond the ten acres that the farm sits on and the desire to maximize positive impact across the surrounding landscape has become the primary focus. We still strive to produce the best, most wholesome product we can but sharing what's been learned in order to empower the broader farming community is my passion.
Millions of acres of mono-crops won't transform into a resource building chemical free system overnight but implementing relatively simple practices based on sound principles will go a long ways to help clean up our watersheds, strengthen rural communities, and improve quality of life.
If you like what we're about you can help! Here are some of the ways:
